Heather Teeling, LMSW

With nearly 20 years of experience, Heather (she/her) provides holistic, compassionate and collaborative treatment to pre-teens, adolescents and adults. She holds a Master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work and has post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Training Institute of Mental Health, where she is a founding member of the Social Justice Coalition, co-chair of the Mind Body Center and Teen Talk therapist. Also a certified yoga teacher, Heather’s background includes bringing yoga, including an evidence-based, NIH-validated model of trauma-informed yoga, meditation and mindfulness programs to NYC high school students and other underserved populations.

Heather has worked in various settings with a diverse clientele of individuals, families and groups. She demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a client-centered and strengths-based perspective and strives to offer affirming treatment through an antioppressive and intersectional lens. While anti-racism, somatic practices and wellness have become increasingly popular the last several years, these subjects are threads that have been woven throughout Heather’s personal, academic, and professional lives, and remain ever-present. She incorporates her specialized training, as well as her warm and attuned manner, into clients’ treatment in order to empower people to achieve desired change and transformation.
