Carina Deandreis Arvidsson

Psychotherapist

Carina Deandreis Arvidsson

Carina believes strongly in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and recognizes the impact of trust, connection, authenticity, and collaboration in meaningful change. Her work is grounded in the psychodynamic perspective, supporting individuals as they explore internal processes, relational patterns, and the ways past experiences may continue to influence present patterns. Carina aims to help clients strengthen their sense of self, increase emotional awareness, and develop insight that supports lasting, personally meaningful growth. She believes therapy can be both deeply human and effective, and tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

Carina works with both individuals and couples, supporting clients across a range of concerns including anxiety, mood challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Her work often focuses on helping clients better understand emotional patterns, navigate relational dynamics, and build greater clarity around their needs, values, and goals. With couples, Carina emphasizes communication, emotional attunement, and fostering a deeper understanding of each partner’s experience, creating space for more secure and intentional connection.

As a therapist raised in a bicultural environment, Carina’s perspective is attuned to the ways culture, family dynamics, and identity intersect with emotional experience, relationships, and mental health. She approaches her work with all clients with cultural openness and genuine curiosity.

Before becoming a therapist and receiving her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University, Carina spent several years working in corporate and technology startup environments. This background allows her to bring a nuanced understanding to clients navigating high-pressure workplaces, career transitions, identity shifts, and the emotional impact of professional demands.

Carina offers sessions both via telehealth and in person in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
