Jennie LaCourt, LMSW
Psychotherapist
Jennie approaches therapy as a collaborative and deeply relational process. She believes that meaningful change emerges through connection, both within the therapeutic relationship and in her clients’ broader lives.
Jennie works psychodynamically and psychoanalytically, helping clients deepen their understanding of how past relationships and unconscious processes shape their present lives. She brings warmth, curiosity, and empathy to her work, creating a space where clients feel understood and supported.
Jennie has a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced loss or relational trauma and are seeking to build more secure, fulfilling relationships. Jennie also works with clients navigating questions around parenthood, including those experiencing perinatal mood shifts and anxiety, and more broadly, questions about an evolving sense of identity.
Jennie recognizes that growth looks different for everyone and tailors her work to each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace. Her style is thoughtful and engaged, balancing reflection with active collaboration.
Jennie’s previous clinical experience includes work in community mental health settings, where she supported individuals from diverse backgrounds as they navigated complex emotional, relational, and systemic challenges. Prior to her clinical work, Jennie’s professional background involved supporting individuals in high-pressure professional environments, particularly within the technology and finance sectors. She brings an understanding of the complexities of these spaces and their impact on identity, relationships, and well-being.
Jennie sees clients in person at 80 8th Avenue office and the Williamsburg office.
