Questioning Religious Identities

Book a Consultation

Many of our clients come in with questions around why they are here, what the purpose of this life might be, and how they were raised with values that may or may not align with their contemporary sense of self. Maybe you identify as having experienced confusing or conflictual dynamics around religion or religious communities. Perhaps you know that religious trauma is part of your story. Perhaps you survived “conversion therapy” or were connected to a group that felt radical or extreme in beliefs. You may be feeling isolated or lonely in navigating an evolving connection to a religious community. We often help people explore a sense of purpose and communal thinking that feels authentic to themselves. In particular, we recommend our therapist Chana Shaffer who often works with folks questioning and expanding their relationship to religion or a higher power. We have no affiliations or agenda, this is about you making sense of what this part of your experience means for you.
