Beth Sussman

Psychotherapist

Beth Sussman, LMSW

Beth earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and completed advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute.

Beth views therapy as a collaborative process-a space where healing unfolds through connection, curiosity, and reflection. She works from a psychodynamic perspective, grounded in the belief that exploring one’s history, relationships, and inner world can lead to meaningful growth and lasting change.

Beth specializes in working with young adults navigating the transition into adulthood and individuals in midlife and beyond who are reflecting on where they’ve been and where they want to go. She supports clients through periods of uncertainty, helping them explore identity, purpose, and the patterns that shape their lives.

Her work often focuses on anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and major life transitions. She also helps clients struggling with career-related stress, burnout, and questions of meaning and fulfillment. Beth approaches these issues with warmth and openness, creating a safe and compassionate space where clients can feel understood and supported. She places strong value on the therapeutic relationship as a unique and powerful experience-one that fosters trust, insight, and transformation.

Drawing on both her professional expertise and the perspective that comes from a life rich with experience, Beth offers empathy and wisdom to clients navigating their own complexities. Before becoming a therapist, she spent many years in the corporate world, giving her unique insight into the demands and pressures of the workplace.

Beth offers sessions in person on the Upper West Side and virtually throughout New York.
